in language, i fucking hate exceptions to the rule.
they devalue the rule.
and if we don't have some sorts of rules
then we are left with
floating letters,
a mish mosh of symbols.

communication can only ever be imperfect.

national geographic had to revise the world map years earlier than it had ever had to before.
is that significant in some way?
is it even really true?
i can think of other times in history where boundaries were changing faster than they are now.
i don't know if i believe it.
